Anybody know the specifics of testing the coil for a '93 Jeep Wrangler? My in-line spark tester lights up and I held onto the wrong spot and got shocked, but every test I can find online that has pictures is using an HEI spark tester. When I use an HEI spark tester, I get nothing. I just wonder if it might be a weak coil and I'm using the wrong tester. It certainly FELT like it had enough voltage.
The coil is new, but it was installed by a non-mechanic. He also installed a whole distributor, and I'm going to check to make sure that's correct as soon as I get another crack at this jeep.
It ran when parked.... 8 years ago....
